Exclusive: Aretha Franklin, Queen of Soul, Gravely Ill in Detroit, Winner of 18 Grammy Awards

This is exclusive, and heart breaking in my situation but for the friends and family of your great Aretha Franklin. She will be gravely ill in Detroit. The whole family is looking for prayers and privacy.

Originally identified as having cancer 2010, Aretha, who turned 76 in March, bravely battled back and refused to become bumped out by illness. Her last performance as on November 2, 2017 for the Elton John AIDS Foundation in Los angeles. Her final public performance was a student in Philadelphia’s Mann Center in August 2017. It absolutely was a miraculous show as Aretha had been then fighting exhaustion and dehydration.

Aretha is flanked by family and the wonderful close to her. She’s going to be so missed as a mother, sister, friend, cousin. But her legacy is greater than life. It’s plus Rolling Stone called her the very singer in recent history, or that he could be the Queen of Soul. Long live the Queen.
