Gaga Goes Venice: “A Star is Born” Will Premiere at Venice Film Festival Beyond Competition
Lady Gaga is going to the Lido. Her Bradley Cooper-directed Oscar hopeful “A Star is Born” will have the Venice Film Festival on August 31st.
This is a massive gamble for Warner Bros. But they’re hedging their bet. The movie may out from competition, then it won’t need to deal with getting an award. Numerous other big fall releases are working competition. Warners doesn’t want the headache of losing an award at the beginning of all seasons.
“A Star is Born” will likely visit the Toronto Film Festival 10 days later, after which through to its opening. There’s allowed to be a soundtrack album with new songs from Kesha, at the same time. Will this become a bonanza or a bust? I think it’s likely to be successful, with Gaga buying an Oscar nomination. The pre-PR has certainly been laid as a foundation for any shiny new skyscraper.
Stay tuned…PS Structure music, Gaga has to grab the record out prior to Grammy deadline September 30th. The Grammys transpire February 10th– picture the hype if she performs the songs there, wins, then proceeds to the Oscars. February 2019 will likely be Gaga month!
