Oscar Buzz as Universal Pulls Out All Stops for “First Man” Toronto Premiere, Will Bus Guests to Theater Resembling Space Ship
Oscar buzz? Universal usually realise it offers the potential Best Picture, and they’re removing all of the stops.
Damien Chazelle’s “First Man” could have its Toronto Film Festival premiere at the IMAX Cinesphere, a futuristic building that seems like it’s around the moon or possibly is a place ship. The many press has shuttled on the Cinesphere, just isn’t next to the Festival. (Actually, we have now no idea where it’s, nor will the Toronto cab drivers, so consider the bus, kids!)
All one other Toronto movies will premiere while in the usual — and extremely nice– theaters like Roy Thomson Hall as well as the Princess of Wales.
But Chazelle’s movie would be the story of Neil Armstrong, the very first man setting foot over the moon, in July 1969. Ryan Gosling, who starred in Chazelle’s cherished “La La Land,” plays Armstrong. The saying I’ve heard from sneak advance screenings so is this do you find it, Oscar wise. Chazelle’s first 2 movies, “Whiplash” and “La La Land” have made him a wunderkind. He’s 34 years of age, although when with the Oscars, he’ll be acceptably old 35!
“First Man” is debuting now in Venice. The review embargo lifts at 1:30pm Eastern. Advertising and marketing reactions from press currently are wonderful.
