Paul McCartney Launches Terrific “Egypt Station” With Secret NYC Gig on your behalf Tube on Friday

Somewhere — somewhere– in New york city Paul McCartney may unexpected secret gig for lucky fans and perchance some press. I’ll maintain Toronto within the Film Festival, but we could all watch the gig online live and ever after. Remember, I talked about as he did his Liverpool gig for James Corden there’d be of such!

All in this launches his new album, his first in incomes, called “Egypt Station.” McCartney is 76. He looks maybe several years younger and bounces around with alacrity. God bless him. He and Ringo are each vegetarians, they meditate, etc. We’re not listening, folks!

“Egypt Station” — why even apply it? McCartney is not to prove. He’s probably the most successful rock star in the past, songwriter, singer, etc. His catalogs are bursting with hits. He could proceed around playing them, reconfiguring them, and purchasing his laurels.

But then you definitely hear these songs– wistful, gorgeous, “Hand in Hand.” Stately “I Don’t Know.” Rockers like “Come on to Me” and “Fuh You” (an incredible record, like “Hi Hi Hi”), “Dominoes” (I enjoy this song). There’s two big medley opuses, one that’s political then one a rocker. “Who Cares” is usually a hit single to these ears. “Caesar Rock” is catchy and artistic. Nevertheless they they all are.

The story goes, you would like to hear “Egypt Station.” McCartney says he set out to develop a whole album– inside an era of singles and ADHD– and he’s done simply that, a completely realized piece. The condition, however, is that classic rock radio won’t play it– his or her wish to hear “Band over the Run”– and top 40 radio is simply keen on generic crap. Oldies radio (WCBS FM) is mired in mediocre 80s stuff (and this hasn’t aged well). So that we must get “Egypt Station” on Sirius or Spotify.

McCartney didn’t play every instrument on “Egypt Station” but he did execute about 90% than me. Would you this? I hearby nominate “Egypt Station” for Grammy Album of this year, not only traditional rock or pop. There isn’t a contemporary songwriter or rocker working today who is going to make something comparable to it. Now, I like all the colored vinyl they’ll produce!
