Telluride Film Festival Schedule Includes “First Man,” “Boy Erased,” Final Redford Film, But No “Star is Born”
The Telluride Film Festival schedule is otherwise engaged. Somehow, many people in private plans or perhaps in “Star Trek” transporters go from Venice to Telluride to Toronto. The rest of us will go to Toronto, where “A Star is Born” will premiere in North America after tomorrow’s Venice debut.
So no Gaga in Telluride, but whatever else . — “First Man,” now during the Oscar lead, “Boy Erased,” and Robert Redford’s final acting job, “The Old Man as well as the Gun.” And, not surprisingly, Orson Welles’ finished final film, “Sleep issues from the Wind.” Director Peter Bogdanovich are going to be there, he’s the Welles expert, also together with his own new doc about Buster Keaton. Viva Bogdanovich!
“Boy Erased” is truly one of two Nicole Kidman films. Additional is “Destroyer.” Kidman has a serious legacy as the Hollywood star who also is the main actress and producer of indie films. She requires a great number of chances, and is always a winner. Bravo!
