Surprise! Best Buy Lied to all of us Last May, They’ve Stopped Selling CDs to acquire, Online

I don’t know why I’m surprised by this. Last May I called Best Buy’s PR department and asked them if the company would stop selling CDs.
A spokesman sent me this statement: “The way you can get and focus on music has dramatically changed and, therefore, we’ve been decreasing the number of space devoted to CDs with our stores. However, we can still offer select CDs, vinyl and digital music options in anyway stores.”
Hello, he lied! (Tip in the hat to Lynda Obst.) I walked through Best Buy yesterday evening on 23rd St. and Sixth Avenue. The CD’s have died. Are you presently selling CDs, I? asked a clerk? Answer: “Whatever’s left in the discount tubs.” There isn’t any more shelves of CDs. It’s over.
On the most beneficial Buy website, CDs are non existent. Gone, baby, gone.
Target still is selling the silver disks on-line. But WalMart is nearly completed them. There’s minimal left over the WalMart site. If you wish CDs, you’re due to a smattering of physical retailers, like FYE within your mall, for people with a mall. Besides that it’s amazon and Barnes & Noble.
Think with this: you are unable to approach Biggest score and buy a Beatles CD. Or Rolling Stones, Dylan, Led Zeppelin, the Allman Brothers, Frank Sinatra. (You can get yourself a espresso maker.)
I’m actually amazed that hi end audio companies, like Cambridge Audio, Denon, Marantz, and Creek continue to be selling CD players. Who’s buying them in case there are no CDs? Now I really have to keep my Creek player in good shape. You will see few methods of put it back in the future.
Of course, the modern music is struggling, additionally, the named music is very poorly produced and engineered, why buy a CD or possibly a player anyway? Of Kanye West? The Carters? Drake? Most new releases aren’t even being produced on CD, they’re just “dropped” digitally onto streaming services or onto iTunes and amazon for downloading.
The cd, RIP 1982-2018. That’s fast, man. I check out all boxed sets, Miles Davis, the Beatles, Sam Cooke, Aretha. These are relics. If your 50th anniversary of the “White Album” is released, it will be via blockchain or telekinesis or through vents up conditioning. Good lord.
Oh yeah, so Best Buy lied. Come on, man, precisely what? Go through the White House. All bets are off in the truth department.
