Prodigal Former Weinstein Comedy “The Upside” with Kevin Hart, Bryan Cranston, Nicole Kidman Finds Home
Neil Burger’s excellent comedy, “The Upside,” finds your home. STX has partnered with all the Weinstein Company’s assets buyer, Lantern, to secrete the film. No date is set yet, but it surely looks like a March movie.
“The Upside” is a American type of in france they hit “The Intouchables.” Bryan Cranston, Kevin Hart, Nicole Kidman, and Julianna Margulies star in this particular beautifully made comedy which includes chance of a great deal of business.
Harvey Weinstein released “The Intouchables” and kept us states rights. He came up with the will attract Hart and Cranston, and definitely Kidman. The Weinstein Company screened “The Upside” in Toronto almost a year ago to a rapturous audience. Here is the plan was an Oscar eligibility run in December then open in February.
But literally three weeks as soon as the standing ovations at Roy Thomson Hall, Weinstein’s world came crashing down. Within a month his company vanished. “The Upside” had been a bankruptcy asset.
I really hope “The Upside” gets to be great marketing strategy and opening. The people who meant it was deserve that, thus does the film.
